Let's start out talking about the Upholstered Headboard in the Modern Apple-licious Design.
Thread N Needle
Velcro or Hook and Loop
Tape, Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Now in this space the walls are made of straight concrete so it's very hard nail anything in the walls. Ok to make this headboard I took 2 foam core boards and taped them together (side by side). I recently purchased a new memory foam mattress pad (whoo whoo) it's so soft. LOL. Ok so the old mattress pad I used for the headboard. The memory foam topper I folded in half to get a good thickness and placed it on top of the foam core (you can glue this down with the hot glue if you want). Then I layed the fabric on top.
After that flip the entire pieces over where you will see the foam core. Then you take the hot glue gun and glue down the edges. Once all of you edges are glued down you are almost complete. The last step is to create the button look by taking a needle and thread from the back to the front several times until you have the button look. I used the velcor on the back of headboard to apply it to the wall.
Another alternative look is to use wood instead of foam core. To apply that to the all you can use velcro or nail it directly in the wall where you would apple the buttons. This option was used in the design of this headboard.
This headboard I went to Home Depot and five squares cut to the desired length of the bed. Upholstered each board using the same technique above.
